In this our first episode of the THE BRIEF, we talk to producer/director Mike Barrett from our Singapore office. Mike’s work on the National Geographic Channel’s “Inside Supercar” brought out the ‘gear-head’ in all of us and we wanted to hear from Mike what the experience was like and what “gear” he used on the shoot. Mike explains, “We shot using the Panasonic Varicam. Mainly because we got a good rate out of the U.S., but also because of the variable frame rate capability of the camera. We used a Z-1 for some of the car-to-car stuff and as a second camera during the race track testing at Sendai in Japan. It was an HD shoot….edited at Edit Lounge using the FCP studio system for HD”
